Scrunching Your Hair? Here’s How!
You may have heard of it before: scrunching your hair. Many curlies swear by it because it’s a simple and gentle way to enhance the natural texture of your hair and give your curls more definition. Curious how you can do it yourself? We’ll explain everything.
What is Scrunching?
Scrunching is a technique often used to enhance natural waves or curls and give them more definition. When scrunching, you “knead” your hair to encourage your natural curl or wave pattern.
How to Scrunch Your Hair
Of course, you now want to know how to scrunch your hair yourself. We’ve created a handy step-by-step plan for you:
- Wash your hair: Use our special curl shampoo to wash your hair. Rinse thoroughly.
- Bend forward: Bend forward so your hair hangs down. This helps create more volume.
- Scrunch your hair: Take small sections of hair and press them upward into your hand as if making a fist. Repeat until you’ve scrunched all your hair. This helps lock moisture into your curls.
- Comb your hair: Apply moisturizer to your hair and gently comb it through so it’s completely free of tangles. Then scrunch again.
- Apply Curl Crème: Next, apply the Curl Crème. This adds more definition to your curls. To shape your hair, you can scrunch, twist, or twirl it.
- Apply Curl Definer: Rub the Curl Definer between your hands and apply it to your curls. Start at the roots and work it through the rest of your hair. The Curl Definer provides extra definition, volume, and hold. It forms a light cast around your hair that seals in moisture and product. This keeps your curls hydrated as they dry.
- Dry your hair: Let your hair air-dry or use a diffuser on your blow dryer to speed things up. Don’t touch your hair until it’s completely dry.
